The system includes an AP 1 tweeter and AP 6.5 woofer, forming a two-way setup. The APCX TW crossover has a level selector with two positions that allow for adjusting its response based on two main uses: +2dB when installed behind the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) grille, and 0dB when placed on the A-pillar without any additional grilles between the tweeter and the listener. To simplify the installation process in OEM locations, the woofers have high current fast-on terminals that provide double contact on both the positive and negative poles, ensuring flexibility and a quick connection.

The MLK 165.3 Legend car audio speaker system comprises the ML 28.3 Legend tweeter and the ML 165.3 Legend woofer, along with the dedicated MLCX 165.3 crossover. The woofer inherits technologies from the ML 1650.3 Legend, including the Boundary Free Surround, the V-cone profile Pressed-pulp cone with cotton fibers, and the six-spoke aluminum basket with vented holes. However, it incorporates a high-density ferrite magnet assembly that enhances its mid-frequency emission characteristics.
The ML 28.3 Legend tweeter shares the same Neodymium magnet assembly as the ML 280.3 Legend, benefiting from optimizations made using FEA methods on the dome profile. It shares many features with its "older brother," except for some more specialized aspects like the die-cast aluminum faceplate, the CNC machined body made from a solid aluminum block, and the copper short circuit ring.
Similar to the MLCX 2 TW.3, the MLCX 165.3 crossover also includes the "Hi-Contour" control, which allows adjusting the ML 28.3 tweeter's cut-off frequency and the cross-point with the ML 165.3 woofer based on their placement in the car. Additionally, the tweeter features a three-position level control with 2 dB step attenuation, enabling fine-tuning of the timbre balance according to personal preferences.
